CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Businessman Rene Romero's son said Friday that he will file a motion for reconsideration (MR) in court on the libel case he filed against Caesar "Bong" Lacson and the staff of a local newspaper.
On June 16 this year, Deputy Regional State Prosecutor Gisselle Marie Geronimo approved the dismissal of the two libel counts upon the recommendation of 1st Assistant City Prosecutor Nereo Dela Cruz on findings that "there was nothing defamatory in the questioned article of Lacson."
But Romero told Sun.Star Pampanga in an interview that he had conferred with his legal counsels, where they decided to file a motion for reconsideration.
"After conferring with my lawyers yesterday, we have decided to file a motion for reconsideration on the libel case. That will be next week or within the 10-day allowable period," he said.
Romero refused to further comment on the issue, but quipped: "We will pursue the case and prove not only to our colleagues but to everybody that our cause has merit."
