CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Pampanga Police Provincial Director Edgardo Tinio recently thanked Governor Lilia Pineda for her all-out support in bringing down the crime rate in Pampanga.
Tinio met with the governor last Wednesday at Benigno Aquino Hall, to discuss the status of crime prevention in the province over the past few months.

“We are very happy to note that major crimes have gone down. We thank Governor Pineda for her support. I now have marching orders to all chiefs of police to be out there on the field. Maximum visibility. I told them to do their jobs, as the governor wants, on a 24-hour basis,” Tinio said.
He added that recently, 176 water search and rescue (Wasar) personnel of the police participated in response operations after the disaster wrought by tropical depression Falcon.
“All of them (Wasar personnel) were sponsored by the governor in their training at Subic. In their recent missions, we were provided by Governor Pineda with all the necessary equipment and logistics. Napakalaking bagay ito sa police,” said Tinio, who on that day received on the spot more vehicles, mobilization funding and equipment for stations in Lubao and Guagua.
Pineda in a statement to Sun.Star Pampanga said: “Pinapatibay ko talaga ang service ng PNP [Philippine National Police] lalo na iyung kanilang mobile force (I am really strengthening the service of the PNP especially the mobile force). They need to conduct 24-hour rounds. Kailangan nilang ipagpatuloy ang pag-protekta sa ating mga kababayang Kapampangan (They need to continue protecting the Kapampangans).”
