Gawad Pamana ng Lahi Award launched

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Central Luzon has recently launched the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi, an award for exemplary performance in Local Governance.
DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo signed DILG MC No. 2011-113 dated August 9, regarding the objectives and guidelines of the said Award.
The Gawad is conferred to a Province, City or Municipality for reason of exemplary performance in Administrative Governance, Social Governance, Economic Governance and Environmental Governance.
This yearly award is also an instrument to scale-up the valuing of accountability, transparency and involvement to local administration and development.
Exemplary performance information is drawn from the database of the on-line Local Governance Performance Management System, Seal of Good Housekeeping, International Organization or National Government Agency-bestowed Awards, and acknowledged innovations.
The Regional Award Committee (RAC) is being chaired by DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan with six Regional Heads from the National Government Agencies.
All Gawad Regional Awardees will automatically qualify in the Gawad National Award.
