AC inmates receive gifts

ANGELES CITY -- More than 200 female inmates at the Angeles City district jail received Christmas gifts from Angeles City Councilor Maricel ‘Marang’ Morales and Hotel Sogo Dau during a simple gift project held on Wednesday.
The gift-giving project, which is in partnership with Hotel Sogo Dau aims to give joy to female detainees this Yuletide season.

Gift packs include grocery items, pillows and bed sheets.
Morales explained that the simple gift-giving project is one of her advocacies in caring for the welfare of women.
For his part, Hotel Sogo Dau branch manager Mar de Jesus said the project will mean a lot to female detainees who are not in the comfort of their respective homes and families this Christmas.
“Hotel Sogo realizes the real meaning of Christmas by sharing a little help to the people and the community. The continuing and dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the hotel will always be an active partner in building and giving assistance to the community.
Also present during the project is Angeles City Gender and Development Officer Purita David.
