CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Kapampangan Development Foundation (KDF) honored on Monday, during its 25th founding anniversary at the Heroes Hall here, partner organizations and individuals in bringing various social services missions to the province's indigents.
KDF president Benigno Ricafort told Sun.Star Pampanga that the awarding is a way of saying thanks to the efforts of service partners in helping KDF achieves its goals.
“Our partners have placed KDF where it is today,” he said.
KDF is an organization of Kapampangans who live outside of the region, yearning to do their share in its social and economic development.
KDF boasts of a continuing prosthesis program that gives artificial legs to Pampanga amputees, wheelchairs and medical-surgical missions to amputees.
KDF was founded in 1987 by Rizalino Navarro, the late Br. Andrew Gonzalez FSC, Cesar Villanueva, and Jose Araullo and Ricafort.
The group has also established at least 10 rural-based "Well Family Midwife Centers" in partnership with Well-Family Midwife Clinic Partnerships Foundation Inc., Norphil Foundation, Physicians for Peace, and Soroptimist Clubs of Pampanga.
Since the rebirth of KDF three years ago, it has achieved unparalleled social service to Kapampangans.
The KDF has been instrumental in the conduct of reconstructive facial surgery among indigent children with facial deformities, the conduct of free maternal and child service missions and the promotion of local livelihood projects for communities. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
