It’s hard to catch a frog, but mayor thanks governor

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- It’s really hard to catch a frog, especially when the 2013 “hunting season” is far off.
This was the sentiment relayed by Mayor Oscar Rodriguez on Monday, when asked about the possible position he will gun for in 2013. Earlier reports had indicated the “living icon of good governance” as Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan had branded him, would go for the third district congressional seat, but reports abound the Liberal Party (LP) might field him in the coming elections for a battle for the gubernatorial post.

Governor Lilia Pineda’s reactions from the still “floating bid” was positive as she told Sun.Star Pampanga in an interview: “Welcome siya dahil may kakayahan siya.
Everybody who wants to serve Pampanga is most welcome.”
“I thank so much Governor Pineda for her remarks. Coming from an ‘unpolluted source,’ I consider that a sign of our shared advocacies for Kapampangans since pareho lang naman ang naisin naman for the province,” Rodriguez quipped during an exclusive interview with Sun.Star Pampanga.
“If it comes to that, ang magiging labanan ay nothing personal,” he adds.
In earlier reports, Rodriguez bared his intentions to make a comeback at Congress and not much at the gubernatorial post.
“If you ask me and my family, Congress would be the best place to be. But all now would depend upon my party’s decision. In any case, it’s still far and many things could happen,” the LP stalwart said.
