CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Four more towns from Pampanga received the Seal of Good Housekeeping from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Wednesday.

During the regional awarding rites at Heroes Hall hosted by the City Government of San Fernando, the municipalities of Sta. Rita led by Mayor Yolly Pineda, Sto. Tomas headed by Mayor Lito Naguit, Masantol represented by Mayor Peter Flores, Sta. Ana with Mayor Omeng Concepcion, and Bacolor’s Mayor Jomar Hizon received their respective medals and seals for qualifying and passing in the fourth round of assessment which includes the areas of good planning, fiscal management, transparency and accountability, and performance monitoring.

According to DILG regional director Florida Dijan, the towns form part of some 137 municipalities and cities in Central Luzon, which have been accorded the citation and performance challenge fund for good governance.

“We are truly proud to have you as our partners. Having 137 recipients of the Seal of Good Housekeeping has made Central Luzon one of the top regions in the country to have most municipalities cited for good governance. We thank you for your support and cooperation,” Dijan said.

San Fernando City Mayor Oscar Rodriguez -- leader of the only city which received the Gawad Pamana ng Lahi award from the DILG last year -- also lauded the recipients for their feat.

“Ito na ang pinakamagandang nangyari sa kapuluan at sa kasalukuyang administrasyon. Ito ay patungo sa tuwid na daan at pagbabago. Sana ay patuloy tayong maging kasangkapan sa pagbabago at pagtaas ng antas ng buhay ng ating mga kababayan. Congratulations and mabuhay,” Rodriguez said.

Other towns and mayors from Pampanga who received their markers include Minalin with Mayor Arturo Naguit; San Simon led by Mayor Leonora Wong; and Sasmuan headed by Mayor Lala Leoncio.
