Manabat said bamboo planting will start in places where soil erosion is apparent, in order to save residents from impending danger.
Manabat sought the assistance of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the supply of bamboo seedlings.
Mayor Jerry Pelayo also pledged to give bamboo seedlings for the initial implementation of the project.
Bamboo planting is also being eyed as an alternative source of livelihood for locals.
