Power cooperative chosen as boot camp showcase

MEXICO -- The Pampanga 1 Electric Cooperative (Pelco 1) has recently been chosen as a showcase for the Performance Governance System (PGS) Boot Camp of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA).

On Tuesday afternoon, ISA associates led by president Francisco Ezmeindi Jr. visited and observed the best practices of Pelco 1 as part of ISA's 2012 PGS Boot Camp themed "Lighting the Way to PGS Success."

Pelco 1 -- one of the country's top electric cooperatives -- was selected and recommended by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

"Pelco 1 was chosen from among hundreds of our electric cooperatives in the country because of its outstanding performance and best practices," said NEA chief Edita Bueno.

Ezmeindi, for his part, lauded Pelco 1 for its innovation as he thanked general manager Loliano Allas and the organization for hosting the ISA associates from the Philippine Navy, Philippine National Police and local government units among others.

"Pelco 1 is truly world class and is a classic success story with innovations that cannot be duplicated," Ezmeindi said.
