Council declares lawmaker as ‘adopted son’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The City Council has approved a resolution declaring Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. (3rd district, Pampanga) as “distinguished adopted son” of this city.
City Councilor Noel Tulabut, who sponsored the resolution, said that with the contributions of Gonzales in the many sectors and needs of the city in collaboration with public officials, the city is now experiencing unprecedented growth in business, investment infrastructure and real property development.

He added that it is time that the city gives due recognition to Gonzales for his efforts in making the lives of Fernandinos better through his many projects here.
The resolution made mention of the substantial contribution in governance by building covered courts, barangay halls, roads, bridges, public markets, flood control, school building and classrooms, among others.
Gonzales was also lauded for his contribution in making the future brighter for the youth through his “Iskolar ng Dong” program that benefits thousands of poor but deserving students.
The program currently brings to school some 20,000 scholars from elementary, high school, college and pre-school in different towns of the district, including the City of San Fernando.
The resolution also mentioned his efforts in keeping healthcare services accessible, available and affordable to all Fernandinos as well as his initiatives of providing financial support to many sectors here.
Gonzales was born at the Virgen Delos Remedios Hospital in San Jose, City of San Fernando. He studied at the Anao Elementary School in Mexico town. He then went to the Mapua Institute of Technology for his collegiate degree in engineering.
He served as 3rd district Board Member before being elected as 3rd district representative for two consecutive terms.
