CLARK FREEPORT -- The strict security measures being implemented by joint security operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Customs and airport security prevented the entry of illegal drugs at the Clark International Airport.
Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) president Victor Jose I. Luciano said PDEA seized P40-million worth of shabu that arrived at the airport recently.

The eight-kilo shabu was taken from Marvin Sia, a Filipino-Chinese businessman in Quezon City. Sia came from China.
“We commend the efforts of the PDEA, Customs, PNP (Philippine National Police) and CIAC securities for the strict measures that led to the confiscation of illegal drugs at the airport,” Luciano said.
PDEA Regional Director Roydel Sanchez thanked Luciano for his support to the agency by providing an extension office at the passenger terminal.
Sanchez said the PDEA office at the airport is vital to the operations of his agency since their mandate aims to monitor and prevent the entry of illegal drugs in the country.
PDEA monitors drug syndicates using the airport as their transshipment point in the country.
“This is a job well done by the PDEA in confiscating the illegal drugs at the airport and rest assured that CIAC, PDEA and other government agencies will continue their fight against the shipment of illegal drugs using DMIA (Diosdado Macapagal International Airport),” Luciano said.
