CANDABA -- Residents who attended the grand street parade during the 5th Ibon-Ebon Festival urged local officials to pass an ordinance institutionalizing its celebration.
The festival has played vital role in unifying the people of this town despite its geographical division to three major parts -- Poblacion, Candaba West and East.

Roberto Dela Cruz, resident of the town, said the Ibon-Ebon Festival will only continue for as long as Mayor Jerry Pelayo remains as town head.
The residents are asking the Municipal Council to enact an ordinance to ensure its continuous celebration even beyond the term of Pelayo as mayor, which will end next year.
Dela Cruz also suggested to the Municipal Council to include in its budget deliberation expenses in the preparation of the festival.
