CANDABA - The Municipal Government of this town recently encouraged farmers to consider planting pipino or cucumber, as demand is high compared to other agricultural crops available here.
Mayor Jerry Pelayo said they are about to provide free seedlings to farmers who manifested willingness to plant cucumber for a possible business venture.

The seeds, he said, will come from the Department of Agriculture. Aside from this, the mayor claimed that the farmers could expect more assistance from them.
"Malaki ang demand sa pipino hindi lang dito kundi maging sa ibang bansa. Pwede natin itong i-process at gawing sweet pickle na paborito ng mga dayuhan," Pelayo explained.
The Municipal Government here set new records in agriculture after it has attracted several mayors from Central Luzon on a joint agri-venture to promote economically viable agricultural products.
Pelayo, in a previous agreement with Mayors Clarita Egmin, Romeo Magaway Sr. and Alberto Bumolo Jr., all from Nueva Vizcaya, vowed all-out support to further improve the life of the farmers not only in Candaba but also other participating municipalities.
