Mandap thanked Gonzales for his support to students here who come from poor families.
“We are very thankful to Congressman Gonzales for the support to indigent students. The scholarship assistance is something that the students look forward to each year because the assistance is being given without any grade requirement,” Mandap said.
Gonzales, for his part, said that unlike other scholarships that require a minimum grade requirement among beneficiaries, he has opted to remove the grade requirement under his scholarship program to provide more students the chance to study.
“It should not be that only the poor and intelligent should have the chance to study. All students, whether academically gifted or not, should be given the chance to study. My only requirement is that they pass their subjects and finish their studies,” Gonzales said.
Gonzales added that he only urges the students to be serious in their studies and not to incur failing marks.
He also proceeded to Camba High School where he presented the funding to Principal Domingo Pangan. The funding amounted to P339,150 to cover the fee expenses of the students for the current school year. (IOF)
