Guv orders for Capitol compound clean-up

Monday, February 13, 2012

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Saying cleanliness and orderliness must start “from within”, Governor Lilia Pineda ordered department heads to lead in maintaining the upkeep of their respective workplaces.

The governor, hopping from one office to another, inspected the state of the Capitol compound and its premises, identifying equipment and facilities that have to be repaired and replaced.

She also ordered for the immediate distribution of hospital equipment and other supplies warehoused at the nearby People’s Gym.

According to Provincial Government and Natural Resources Office chief Art Punsalan and General Services Office head Royce Pring, Governor Pineda wanted cleanliness and orderliness to “start from within.”

“That is because she wants all employees of the Capitol to have clean and orderly workplaces so they can effectively deliver the necessary services to Kapampangans. The governor has been all-out in her campaign for effective solid waste management and health programs. Her mindset is really for us to start within our respective offices,” Punsalan said.

Punsalan also told Sun.Star Pampanga that the governor’s move is part of good governance, where offices are properly set up, procedures are outlined and records archived at a building near the gym.

“Governor Pineda wants all these organized for the future. We believe and agree with her that a conducive workplace will result in highly effective and efficient delivery of basic services to Kapampangans,” said Punsalan. (JTD)
