Mabalacat cops nab man with gun

MABALACAT -- The town police recently arrested a 31-year-old man who was allegedly carrying a gun in Barangay Dau here.
Alvin Estepa Bayona, a tricycle driver, of 12th Street Barangay Lakandula, this town, was arrested after he was spotted carrying a .22 caliber short gun along South Daang Bakal by police officers conducting drug surveillance in the area.

Superintendent Rodney Raymond Louie J. Baloyo IV, town police chief, said Bayona was charged before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor for violating Republic Act 8294, otherwise known as the Illegal Possession of Firearms, Ammunitions and Explosives.
Baloyo commended his men, including Inspector Rogelio Manalang and Police Officer 2 Raquel Sotto, for Bayona’s arrest.
Baloyo said Chief Superintendent Edgardo M. Ladao, Central Luzon police director, and Senior Superintendent Edgar Tinio, Pampanga police director, recently ordered a crackdown against criminal elements particularly those “riding in tandem.”
