Monday, February 13, 2012

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- An official from the Pampanga Police Provincial Office said Sunday that the membership of “Kayanakan: Yaman Ning Balen at Ehemplu Laban Queng Droga (Kayabe)” is continuously growing.

Police Superintendent Jhoanna Rosales, chief operations branch of the PPPO, said the total membership of “Kayabe” already reached more than 500 young individuals.

She said most of the members are elected Youth Council officials from the 15 towns in the province.

“Katulong po natin ang ating mga Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) sa pagmo-mobilize ng tao na dumalo sa three-day live-in seminar natin,” Rosales said.

The participants, through the resource speakers, learned the ill effects of illegal drugs, he added.

“They are encouraged to devote themselves to more useful activities,” Rosales said.

She admitted, however, that the campaign against illegal drugs will not be successful without the full support and cooperation of the parents.

“Ini-invite din natin ang mga magulang para sumama sa ating mga seminar sapagkat naniniwala ang PNP na malaki ang magagawa nila sa tagumpay ng ating kampanya (We are also inviting parents to join us because the PNP believes that they are of great help to our campaign against illegal drugs),” Rosales said.
