SAN SIMON -- The Municipal Government here has partnered with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to further increase membership in area.
Mayor Leonora Wong launched over the weekend “PhilHealth Sabado,” a mass registration for would-be members, including reactivation of accounts of former members who failed to pay premium for several months.
“It’s a big thing for our townmates to have this kind of program, that’s why we are thanking PhilHealth for choosing San Simon),” Wong said in Filipino.
The lady mayor explained that for those who want to pay premiums for two years, the Municipal Government will shoulder the first P900 and the remaining P900 will be the share of the new registrant-resident.
Ordinarily, a member is obliged to pay a premium of P300 for every quarter. However, according to Wong, those who availed themselves and registered through “PhilHealth Sabado,” will be required to pay for a P1,800 premium only for two years.
She said the barangay health workers and employees from the rural health units attended a two-day seminar involving the law and guidelines on PhilHealth.
“Nag-seminar po yung ating mga BHWs and mga RHU employees tungkol dito sa PhilHealth. Pwedi na po natin silang tanungin tungkol sa PhilHealth dahil itinuro na sa kanila ito (Our BHWs and RHU employees have attended a seminar on PhilHealth, so we can now ask them about the program),” Wong added.
PhilHealth is a corporation that ensures sustainable, affordable and progressive social health insurance that endeavors to influence the delivery of accessible quality health for all Filipinos. (HPM)
