Village chiefs get wells from board member

CANDABA -- Barangay captains from the 4th district towns of Candaba, Masantol, Macabebe, Minalin, Sto. Tomas and San Simon received Tuesday morning artesian wells from Board Member Ricardo Yabut.
The artesian wells, complete with sets of pipes, are under the lawmaker-2013 congressional aspirant’s “Project: Artesian Wells/Poso,” which aims to provide potable water particularly far-flung villages.
“These artesian wells are designed to provide potable water for remote villages, especially those without established water districts and sources. Marami kasi sa mga barangays sa 4th district wala talagang mapagkunan ng tubig. And these wells, I hope, would ease that problem since communal ang mga ito at para sa lahat sa barangay-beneficiary,” Yabut said.
He told Sun.Star Pampanga that aside from water provision, the artesian wells could address concerns on sanitation and health in general.
Barangay Bagumbali (Candaba) chief Nestor Mangilit, who received two units, said the artesian wells are a welcome donation from the board member.
“Malaking tulong po ito sa aming barangay lalo na ngayong tag-init at malaki ang pangangailangan ng tubig. Ito po ay ilalagay namin sa mga pulo kung saan may access ang lahat. Maraming salamat po kay Cong Ric,” Mangilit said. (Jovi T. De Leon)
