CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The provincial governor reiterated Friday that their partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) resulted in major development in terms of delivery basic health services.

“Kami po sa Pampanga ay nabigyan ng may halos dalawang milyong piso ng National Government sa pamamagitan ng Department of Health. Malaking tulong po ito para sa kalusugan ng aming mga kababayan,” Governor Lilia Pineda told the public health doctors in various provinces in Central Luzon.

This came as Pineda joined Dr. Leonita Gorgolon, Center for Health Development–Central Luzon director, during the general assembly of the said public doctors held at Clark Freeport.

The governor assured Gorgolon that the province of Pampanga will support the programs of the department that would benefit the Kapampangan.

“One hundred percent po ang support namin sa inyo pagdating sa programang pangkalusugan,” she said.

Earlier, the Province received P118,100,000 funding assistance in 2010 for the repair and expansion of Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital, Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and the San Luis District Hospital, including the construction of three-storey buildings in both the Dr. Emigdio Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital and Jose B. Lingad General Memorial Hospital.

In 2011, an additional P5 million was provided for the repair and expansion of Dr. Emigdio Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital and another P5 million for the expansion and renovation of Magalang District Hospital in Magalang.

More so, rural health units in Angeles City, Apalit, Candaba, Macabebe, Masantol, Mexico, City of San Fernando, Sta. Ana and Sta. Rita were provided with a total of P32 million for their expansion, repair, renovation and equipping projects.

This year, the National Government has provided various hospitals in the province more than P33 million.
