CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - An agreement towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) was recently forged between the Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD), Provincial Government and Kapansanan ng Kawarayan at Kakurian (Kakak) Foundation Inc.
The said parties have joined forces to achieve the MDG agenda by enhancing maternal and child infrastructure.
The agreement was executed Saturday in a general meeting held at the Clark Freeport. It was attended by the provincial and municipal health officers in various provinces in Central Luzon including some of the board members.
DOH-CHD was represented by Director Leonita Gorgolon, Governor Lilia Pineda for the province of Pampanga and Sister Eloisa David for the Kakak Foundation.
Kakak Foundation earlier initiated a birthing clinic network to help the government attain its MDG agenda to eradicate maternal and child mortality.
Under this agreement, the parties agreed to contribute resources and expertise to support the establishment of the Mother Bles Birthing Clinic.
The Center for Health and Development vowed to allocate funds for the proposed building and provision of medical equipment, among others.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government is obligated to provide a lot or existing building in Lubao town for the said project.
Kakak Foundation, on the other hand, is mandated to give prenatal check-up, vitamins, medicines and free delivery service for PhilHealth members.
The project shall be for the period of three years subject to the outcome of the reviews upon which the DOH-CHD will determine whether or not to turnover its supervision to the provincial government. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
