MABALACAT CITY -- Mayor Marino Morales has vowed to espouse a better system of governance following the conversion of Mabalacat into a component city.
Morales said the City Government will hire consultants from the corporate world to improve the level of governance and service to the people.
The mayor said they will also undergo benchmarking with other progressive cities in the country like Makati City, Puerto Princesa, Davao, Cebu and others.
With the increase in revenue, the local government will implement a 10-year development plan, which includes infrastructure projects, according to Morales.
Among the projects include the renovation or construction of a new public market, slaughterhouse, classrooms, fire station, city jail, sanitary landfill, memorial park and commercial estates.
Morales said they also lined up the improvement of the Mabalacat City College, which will offer free tuition fees to indigent students.
The old Municipal Hall in Barangay Poblacion will also be renovated and later be converted into either a museum or a DepEd Division Office where the schools city superintendent will hold office.
