CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the province and some parts of Metro Manila were struck by an earthquake Tuesday afternoon.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at Intensity 2 in Clark and Pasay City.
Some parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, were shaken while being bombarded by heavy rains brought about by the southwest monsoon.
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was also traced 42 kilometers northwest of Lubang town in Occidental Mindoro.
Phivolcs declared in its bulletin that the quake may produce aftershocks. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
