Residents return home as floodwaters recede

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Hundreds of families in this city have started returning to their homes as floodwaters in their barangays receded.
Transportation has normalized as road networks in the city are now passable to all vehicles and businesses have resumed operations.
As of this posting, the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) reported that some families have gone back to their homes as floodwaters in 10 of 22 affected barangays of the City of San Fernando have subsided.
The number of evacuation centers has also been reduced from 33 to 15.
The number of affected families has been accounted at 18,025 (67,761 individuals), while those in evacuation centers has gone down to 1,414 families or some 5,428 individuals.
The number of casualties remains at four, while there is only destroyed house reported.
The CDRRMO officials also said relief and rescue operations are still ongoing in two barangays, particularly hard-hit San Pedro Cutud. (Jovi T. De Leon)
