PORAC -- Two students from this town were given S12,000 worth of scholarship grants by the Noblesse International School based in Angeles City.
The grant is part of the school’s commitment with the Municipal Government of Porac led by Mayor Condralito dela Cruz in helping local students here.
Mayor dela Cruz told Sun.Star Pampanga that Stephanie Langsang and Trisha Sicat will be able to avail themselves of free tuition, books, materials, facilities and lodging with the international school.
“This presents a new opportunity for our students to prove their worth under international instruction. Imagine them having free education which costs around $10,000 to $12,000,” Dela Cruz said.
Dela Cruz made the scholarship grants possible through coordination with the international school. However, a few students availed themselves of the slots after having reservations with studying in an international school.
“Some thought that it would be very difficult to study in such an institution. In fact some of them were a bit indecisive,” Dela Cruz said, adding that Porac would have had more slots in the international school if student applicants were more committed with their applications.
Stephanie Langsang, from this town’s Porac Model Community, said she is very excited of the opportunity given to her by the school. Lansang would have to maintain a grade of 90 to be able to continue the grant from Grade 7 to 12.
Dela Cruz said that the move to partner with the international school is part of the Municipal Government of Porac’s commitment to help deserving students here get a chance to avail of quality education through scholarships, subsidies and partner institutions.
