CANDABA -- Vice President Jejomar Binay provided relief goods on Monday to residents of Barangay San Agustin here.
Binay was warmly welcomed by local officials led by Mayor Jerry Pelayo, together with the flood-affected residents of Barangay San Agustin, one of the three villages of this town that remain under waist-deep floodwaters.
The activity is part of the continuing assistance provided by the Vice President to the affected residents in the province.
Pelayo said all the 33 villages and more than half of their total population of 110,000 had been affected by floods spawned by strong rains that started on August 6.
Binay is also scheduled to give relief goods to residents of Sto. Tomas, San Simon, Apalit and San Luis, all part of the province’s fourth district.
He likewise distributed calamity loans to Pag-Ibig Fund members in Pampanga who were also affected by the recent floods.
