Party-list hosts medical-dental mission

ANGELES CITY -- The Butil Farmers Party recently hosted a medical and dental mission for indigent residents of Pulung Maragul here in a bid to provide health services and free medicines to patients needing medical attention.
Butil Representative Agapito Guanlao said the event was made possible through the support of the Rotary Club of Central Pampanga (RCCP) and the barangay chairman Jojo Dimapilis.
The event featured free medical consultations from volunteer-doctors and a supplemental feeding for local children. The mission also included free dental services and medicines.
Some 500 indigent residents availed of the free services. Funds for the event came from the party-list group, partners and supporters.
Guanlao said the mission is among the dozen similar activities they have conducted in Pampanga and Central Luzon in the past months. Recently, Butil also visited Mabalacat town for a similar health mission in coordination with RCCP.
“Our party does not only concern itself with farmer issues and concerns, we also go into community development and support where it is most needed,” Guanlao told Sun.Star Pampanga.
Butil Farmers Party is a party-list group that advocates the welfare and empowerment of those in the agricultural sector through government legislation and programs.
Earlier, RCCP has commended Guanlao for looking into the concerns of indigents in various communities here. The group awarded him a plaque of recognition and pledge to support Butil programs in Pampanga and neighboring provinces.
RCCP is among the more than 20 Rotary Club organizations in Pampanga. The group concerns itself with civic, health and development programs for various communities here in accordance with the objectives of Rotary International.
