SAN Fernando City – Public Employment Services Office Manager Dominador “Donny” Sayre was named the “PagAsa” awardee by the Civil Service Commission during the Search for 2012 Outstanding Public Officials and Employees.
The PagAsa award is one of the three categories included in the search for Dangal ng Bayan and Lingkod ng Bayan, where Mayor Oscar Rodriguez was also a finalist in the nationwide annual salute to public servants highlighting the celebration of the CSC anniversary.
Sayre bested 11 other equally strong nominees, including a town mayor and a municipal judge, who underwent strict scrutiny in aspects of noteworthiness of outstanding performance and contribution; impact of performance and achievement; reliability and effectiveness; consistency of performance; and demonstration of teamwork, cooperation, camaraderie and cohesiveness.
Sayre, who was also honored last Monday by the City Council with a resolution for his dynamism, innovativeness, commitment and dedication, becomes the second Fernandino public servant to receive the coveted CSC award, after Art Samson received it in 2006.
For his feat, Sayre will receive the trophy and a cash prize of P100,000 in rites at Malacañang on September 19 this year.
“We are so blessed and I’m thankful to everyone we have worked with in serving San Fernando like Mayor Oca, Vice Mayor Edwin Santiago, councilors, department heads and employees. Above all, I thank God for this honor and opportunity,” Sayre told Sun.Star Pampanga.
Because of Sayre’s award, the CSC Central Luzon Office has achieved a grand slam, with awardees coming from the region in the last two years. (Jovi T. De Leon)
