CAMP OLIVAS – A driver was found dead inside of a tanker trailer abandoned along the Gapan-Olongapo Road in Barangay Concepcion, Lubao town last Sunday.
A belated report said Antonio Ursais, 52, of Barangay San Antonio of Lubao town was already dead when found in the driver’s seat of an international tractor trailer (TUA-541) parked along the said road.
A concerned citizen reported his discovery to the Lubao police, reports said.
Prior to the incident, the vehicle incurred mechanical defects which were fixed by their company's auto mechanics who responded to the area.
The victim reportedly took a rest after the mechanic fixed the tanker trailer which is reportedly owned by Remco Transport Inc. of Otis, Manila, the report said.
An investigation conducted by Lubao police stated that the victim had been receiving death threats after being suspected of informing the company’s management on alleged pilfering activities of his co-employees.
The tanker was loaded with Jet A-1 gasoline supposed to be delivered to the Cebu Pacific at the Domestic Airport in Manila from Subic when it incurred mechanical defects.
It was not mentioned in the report what caused the victim’s death. -- Ric Sapnu
