CAMP OLIVAS -- A Japanese national billeted in a hotel in Olongapo City was victimized by the so-called “Salisi Gang” recently.
Sr. Supt. Christopher Tambungan, Olongapo City police director, said Hideke Watanabe, 44, checked in at the PUB Hotel located in Barangay Barreto, Olongapo City.
His girlfriend Mary Jane Pau-as, 21, went to the city police office to seek for assistance.
Watanabe, according to Tambungan, forgot to lock the door to his room when he left one afternoon.
Based on CCTV footages, an unidentified man who acted as a customer rented a room adjacent to the room of the victims.
The unidentified customer, identified himself in the hotel logbook as a certain Arnel Sanchez, the report said.
The CCTV recorded that the man went in and out of the victim’s room four times.
When Watanabe went back to his room, he discovered that his backpack containing one iPhone, a Sharp cellular phone, a Rolex watch, iPod, P30,000 in cash, HH$6,000, Y10,000, and other personal belongings were missing. (Ric Sapnu)
