Masantol treasurer's office robbed

CAMP OLIVAS -- Unidentified men robbed the treasurer’s office of the local government unit of Masantol and carted away P20,000 in cash, a Samsung cellular phone and other items.
Around 8:30 a.m. of Friday, Zax Viernes, a municipal employee, told police probers that he noticed a person with long hair wearing a green sando and shorts going down the stairs from the floor where the Municipal Council office is located, the report said.
The employee then noticed that the glass frame of the Municipal Council hall was shattered.
The report said the suspect or suspects entered the hall and proceeded to the treasurer’s office located at the first floor of the building, which is only a few meters away from the local police station.
Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered a spoon, pork pliers and bloodstains left by the suspects.
Mayor Peter Flores said this is not the first time that their municipal hall was entered by some lawless individuals. Police are still investigating the incident. (Herbert Mapiles/With Ric Sapnu)
