Thousands get relief from group abroad

APALIT -- Some 1,000 families in Barangay Cansinala here benefited from a relief operation spearheaded by a group of Apaliteños from USA.

Members of this group from Northern California sent food and clothing supplies to their flood-hit town mates.

Barangay Cansinala was one of the extremely flooded areas in this town during the recent calamity.

The relief goods reached the resident-beneficiaries through Mayor Jun Tetangco, Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, barangay chairman Inaki Escaler Saenz, and other barangay volunteers.

The Federation of Chinese-Filipino Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., Provincial Government and non-government organizations likewise provided relief goods to flooded residents in other barangays. (With reports from Roxette Timoteo)
