ANGELES CITY -- Former Pampanga first district representative Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno has vowed to further improve the delivery of basic services in Angeles City, Mabalacat, and Magalang towns.
Supporters of the first congressional district of Pampanga benefitted greatly during Nepomuceno’s term as representative to the Lower House.
“It was a time of reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts of the government following the eruptions of Mt. Pinatubo. Among the major projects completed during my incumbency include the Pulung Maragul-Pandan Bridge and the Hensonville Bridge,” said Nepomuceno.
The Pulung Maragul-Pandan Bridge was completed in 1999 while the Hensonville Bridge was completed in 2001.
The Pulung Maragul-Pandan Bridge connected Angeles City to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), a vital link to Angeles City; and the towns of Magalang and Arayat.
Hensonville, on the other hand, connected Angeles City to the western portion of the city, said Nepomuceno.
Without the vital bridges, the movement of transport system and goods to and from Manila will be affected. The two bridges accelerated rehabilitation efforts in Angeles City following the destructive eruptions of Mt. Pinatubo, said Nepomuceno.
Nepomuceno added that he immediately ordered the construction of farm-to-market roads all over the First Congressional District of Pampanga. He also provided some 120 multicab service vehicles to the barangays.
Nepomuceno, who filed his COC on Monday, said he will pursue the prompt delivery of basic services zeroing in on health, education, youth and sports development and infrastructure development.
Nepomuceno is currently conducting regular barangay visits to determine the needs of his constituents.
