Capitol spends P176.4M for classroom construction

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Provincial Government of Pampanga has spent some P176.4 million for the construction of 182 new classrooms and six covered courts in various public schools in the province.
Records from the Provincial engineering Office (PEO) show that in 2011, the Provincial Government released P50,083,216 for the construction of 45 new rooms, repair and improvement of 32 classrooms and the building of five covered courts.
This year, P54,149,836 has been allocated to finance the construction of 28 new classrooms, repair and improvements of 77 classrooms and one covered court.
Olimpio Pangan, an engineer from the PEO, also said the construction of at least 35 classrooms amounting to P62.5 million, as well as comfort rooms for 26 public schools amounting to P9.7 million, is ongoing.
Governor Lilia Pineda believes that education could bring development and posterity among the Kapampangans.
“We treasure the value of education. We invest for it to ensure a better future for the young Kapampangans,” the governor noted.
Pineda encouraged parents to send their children to school as they are already provided classrooms conducive to learning.
