ANGELES CITY -- Councilor Jesus Sangil filed his certificate of candidacy for the city vice mayoralty post at the Comelec office here last Friday.
Sangil vowed to deliver genuine public service to the people as vice mayor of the city.
Hundreds of supporters joined Sangil at the election office shortly after a Holy Mass officiated by Monsignor Jun Mercado of the Our Lady Lourdes Church.
“Please help me. Let us keep the flame of public service burning,” Sangil said.
“Thank you for joining me in starting a new journey. The past nine years have been truly rewarding and fruitful. With all modesty, I believe I have achieved something for the people I have vowed to serve,” he said.
“I would like to continue to be of service to the Angeleños, this time, elevating our kind of service a notch higher. Not only in terms of position at the City Hall but also in terms of actual delivery of service – the very service that the people of Angeles would want from their leaders,” he added.
Sangil asked his constituents to support his new journey towards an honest-to-goodness and people-oriented public service “with no bounds, no limits, no colors, no political parties, groupings or affiliations.”
He also urged his fellow officials and other candidates to be true to their calling.
