CAMP OLIVAS -- An alleged carnapper was gunned down after he traded shots with policemen manning a check point along the Porac-Dinalupihan road in Barangay Jaling, Porac town over the weekend.
In a belated report, Senior Superintendent R’Win Pagkalinawan, acting provincial police of the Pampanga Police, said the Porac police flagged down a motorized tricycle during a check point at said vicinity.
An unidentified man alighted from the motorized tricycle and allegedly drew out a short gun and started firing at the policemen manning a checkpoint, Pagkalinawan said.
This prompted the lawmen to return fire, hitting the victim. The unidentified man died on the spot, police said.
Initial investigations conducted by Porac police said the tricycle was stolen in front of the house of one Roberto Sison in Barangay Palat, Porac.
Recovered from the suspect was a .38 caliber revolver with two bullets and four spent shells for a .38 revolver. (Ric Sapnu)
