Residents thank PNoy, Lapid for road project

ANGELES CITY -- Residents of Barangay Balibago thanked President Benigno Aquino III and Senator Lito Lapid for approving the implementation of a vital road project amounting to P2.5 million.
Balibago Chairman Rodelio Mamac said the President, through Lapid, ordered the release of funds, special allotment release order (Saro), to cover the implementation of a 200-meter road along Laguna Street in said village.
Mamac said residents and motorists will benefit from the project since the street served as alternate road for several decades now.
The village official lamented the road was neglected by previous administrations.
Aside from the road pavement, the project also includes the drainage system, Mamac said.
The regional office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is expected to complete the project before December 31, 2012, according to Mamac.
Mamac said the project is included in the P37 million infrastructure projects being implemented by the National Government.
