Guv wants better ties with Koreans in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Governor Lilia Pineda said she is batting for a renewed relation with the Korean communities in the province during his talk with South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Hyuk Lee.
The governor welcomed Lee over the weekend along with Korean community officials in Pampanga and Angeles City.
Pineda said the visit aimed to promote the strong ties among Koreans living and studying in the province.
She said there are some 6,000 or more South Koreans living and visiting the country each year, adding the Koreans have form a strong presence in Porac, Mabalacat, and Angeles City, where they operate hotels, restaurants, schools, and a community hospital.
Pineda said she hopes to promote better cooperation with Koreans here and strengthen the network with Kapampangans working in South Korea.
Pineda said the Pampanga Public Employment Services Office assisted the Korean Language Test passers in terms of discounted price of medical examination in selected venues in the province.
The province has accommodated the proper facilitation of papers for Kapampangans wanting to work in South Korea through job fairs, she said. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
