CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The search for most outstanding Kapampangans is on, with provincial tourism officer Arwin Lingat saying it is the highlight of the Pampanga Day celebration on December 11.
Lingat said the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (Moka) 2012 will recognize Kapampangans excelling in the fields of agriculture, arts, business and entrepreneurship, culture, mass media, education, government service, judicial service, law enforcement, parenthood, religion, science and technology, social service, sports, and youth service.
Also part of the awards night, he added, is the search for the outstanding honorary Kapampangan or a non-Kapampangan who has contributed to the welfare of the province.
Nominees must be Kapampangans by birth or blood, with a parent who is a native of Pampanga, and with excellent accomplishments that have improved the Kapampangan race.
The Moka candidate must be nominated by an individual or a group who will submit to the Moka search committee a 12-paragraph essay, photos and three-minute video of the nominee, accompanied by pertinent documents.
Nominations must be received by the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (Actop) at Capitol before 5 p.m. of November 10.
More information and nomination forms could be obtained from the Provincial Administrator’s Office and at Actop. (Jovi T. De Leon)
