Health workers get PhilHealth cards

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Provincial Government, through its Provincial Social Welfare Office (PWSDO), led the distribution of more Philippine Health (PhilHealth) Insurance cards to Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).
PSWDO chief Elizabeth Baybayan disclosed that some 2,712 PhilHealth cards were distributed in various districts in the province.
She said the initiative is a proof that the Provincial Government recognizes the sacrifices of the BHWs in bringing health programs closer to poor Kapampangans.
This, according to her, is simple way saying thank you to the BHWs who have been active partners in delivering health services to the people.
The Day Care workers and indigent individuals also received PhilHealth cards, Baybayan said.
Governor Lilia Pineda said the cards will provide beneficiaries or holders benefits on health services.
In private hospital, card holders will not enjoy the same benefits but they will still get substantial amount of discounts, Pineda said. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
