Parish to donate relief goods to typhoon victims

CANDABA -- Members of the Lord's Baptism Parish in Barangay Pasig in this town will donate relief goods to typhoon victims in Compostela Valley.

Aristotle Maniago, parish priest, said they were able to collect a variety of goods from parishioners who attended the masses held before the end of December last year.

"Mayroong naka-assign na item bawat simbang gabi kaya marami tayong naipon. Talagang marami ang tumugon at tumulong, siguro gusto rin naman nilang makatulong sa ating mga kababayan na hanggang ngayon ay bumabangon pa mula sa hagupit ng kalamidad," Maniago added.

He said the relief goods will be delivered to the recipients through Sagip Kapamilya, the emergency humanitarian assistance program of ABS-CBN Foundation Inc., which provides food and non-food relief to affected communities of disasters.

It is also engaged in rehabilitation and disaster risk reduction projects in the affected communities.
