ANGELES CITY -- The Green Youth Brigade (GYB), together with the Metro Angeles Real Estate Board (Mareb), conducted a feeding program for some 53 kids at “Ang Duyan Ni Maria,” an orphanage located at Number 359, Leticia Street, Josefa Subdivision, Malabanias, Angeles City.
The GYB is a network of youth-based community, people's organization, non-government organization, and environmental advocates.
Mareb, on the other hand, is an organization composed of licensed real estate brokers.
Both Green Youth Brigade and Metro Angeles Real Estate Board are supporting “Ang Duyan Ni Maria,” said former councilor Louie Reyes, GYB spokesperson.
“We are touching the hearts of our friends and colleagues to bring joy for the 53 kids. There is a great sense of fulfillment whenever we see the smiles on their faces. It is heartwarming to see them It reminds us despite the hardships of life, there is hope. Through them, we see hope,” Reyes said.
GYB extended assistance to the orphanage in Sta. Maria Village, Balibago last 2011.
“In 2012, we supported ‘Ang Duyan Ni Maria.’ Now, in its third year, we have partnered with Metro Angeles Real Estate Board. Dramatically, we have gained our momentum. Joy is spreading to other organizations. We have tapped Ms. Cecile Yumul of the Save the Trees Coalition (STC) for future projects like dental missions,” Reyes said.
“With limited resources, we can only do so much. But together we can do much more. Now, we see things in a positive light. Now, we see more hope in many more years to come,” he added. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
