PAMPANGA Governor Lilia Pineda expressed belief that sustainable development in the province could only be achieved when the people are educated.
Pineda said the demand for quality and affordable education for the Kapampangans is getting bigger.
She added that this can only be achieved when education will be made available to everyone, including those living in remote communities.
Recently, the Provincial Government has partnered with the Don Honorio Ventura Technical State University (DHVTSU) to bring education closer to the communities.
It has funded the construction of several satellite campuses in selected towns in Pampanga, amounting to more than P20 million.
On Tuesday, Pineda granted another P12 million for the construction of a two-storey building for DHVTSU satellite campus in Porac town. This came as the existing facilities can no longer accommodate the increasing number of students every year.
With this, the governor instructed the provincial engineering office to expedite the construction of building a similar facility to that of DHVTSU Sto.Tomas Campus.
“The Provincial Government and the local government units provided support for the establishment of DHVTSU satellite campuses in order give chance to indigent students to finish their studies and have a brighter future,” Pineda said.
