CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Third district Board Member Trina Dizon said Friday that plans are underway for the implementation this year of Capitol’s Gender and Development (GAD) Plan.
Dizon convened and presided over a hearing of the Committee on Women, which was attended by representatives from various groups and sectors at the Provincial Board session hall to map up plans for the implementation of the Gender and Development Code, projected to leap-off the drawing boards in time for Women’s Month in March.
“We are now streamlining the Gender and Development Code and preparing it for implementation, and hopefully launch it during the celebration of Women’s Month,” she told Sun.Star Pampanga.
The lady lawmaker added that the necessary and proper ordinance covering the GAD Plan has already been passed and approved by the Provincial Board.
The GAD Plan and code comes after Dizon successfully authored and passed the historic Child Abuse Prevention and Intervention Network ordinance two years ago.
The Capin has since proved effective in protecting and upholding children’s rights and welfare.
