Mayor hits congressional bet

SAN SIMON -- Mayor Leonora Capule Wong lambasted Friday fourth district congressional candidate Juan Pablo Rimpy Bondoc for allegedly grabbing the credit on various government-funded projects.
She said the public deserves to know the truth about the details of the projects being carried out in the municipality and funded by the National Government.
"Under what capacity he is acting for? He is a private citizen. Bakit nakalagay sa mga streamers salamat Rimpy eh proyekto ito ng gobyerno," Wong said.
Wong issued the statement after Bondoc, along with his running-mates here, spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony of a covered court in one barangay here without coordinating with the Municipal Government.
She said that as a gesture of respect, Bondoc should have shown the documents of the project and the source of his authority to lead the groundbreaking being a private citizen.
"There must be a streamer showing the details of the project, including the amount and source of fund, name of the contractor, and the start and end date," she said in vernacular.
The lady mayor tried to stop the groundbreaking for irregularities.
It was learned that the project came from the National Housing Authority (NHA) upon the initiative of Vice President Jejomar Binay. It was channeled through the priority development assistance fund of Representative Dr. Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, sister of Rimpy.
An official from NHA who requested not to be named clarified to Sun.Star Pampanga that the project was bidded out and awarded to a contractor in October last year.
The same source disclosed that they were not properly advised on the groundbreaking ceremony.
