CANDABA -- An official from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that some P111 million will be allocated for the construction of the Candaba-San Miguel road.
The road project includes the remaining 2.5-kilometer stretch to link the villages in the Kapampangan region of Candaba to the town proper, said Pampanga 1st Engr. Rico Guilas during a recent meeting with the Provincial Government.
Earlier, the concreting of more than 600 meters of the Candaba-San Miguel road Magumbali section was funded by the Provincial Government amounting to P5 million.
Mayor Jerry Pelayo believes that the completion of the construction Candaba-San Miguel road will open other economic opportunities in the localities.
He said agricultural crops from the isolated villages can now be easily transported to the public market.
In the past, due to the poor conditions of the road, farmers took their crops to San Miguel, Bulacan which is more accessible. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
