SAN LUIS -- Fourth district congressional candidate and incumbent Candaba Mayor Jerry “John Lloyd” Pelayo said the 2013 midterm elections is a perfect opportunity for the people to entertain the idea of having a change of representation in Congress for the betterment of the district.

Pelayo noted that the people from the fourth district deserve somebody who would truly represent their concerns in Congress through the introduction of legislative measures that will further improve their standard of living in the localities.

To note, the late Emigdio Bondoc first assumed the congressional seat during the 8th Congress in 1987 until 1998. He held the position for at least 11 years.

He was replaced by his son Juan Pablo, who was then elected as district representative in 1998. After serving his full terms, his sister Dr. Anna York Sagum became congresswoman in 2004, serving three consecutive terms, the latest of which is about to end this 2013.

Pelayo said this is the right time to aspire for more developments in the district, but he noted that it is still up to the people to decide on what they want this coming elections.

The mayor said, though, that there will be more to achieve with Governor Lilia Pineda in Provincial Government and him in Congress.

Pagsasamahin po natin ang aming pondo para sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan," he said. (Herbert P. Mapiles)
