PamCham holds stress management session

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham) recently conducted its “De-Stress to Impress, Performance at its Best” lecture to help participants cope with and manage work related stresses.
The 12th learning session, which was held at the Mary the Queen Academy of Pampanga audio-visual room, was facilitated by Rechelle Guzman, HR practitioner and academician who have conducted numerous seminars, trainings and workshops for various institutions and organizations in Central Luzon.
Attended by 29 members, the seminar also defined stress and illustrated its detrimental effect on human behavior patterns and mental health.
The participants gave honest answers to the various questions determining their behavior type and corresponding coping mechanisms for each personality type.
The seminar also identified the various stages of stress and its symptoms: alarm stage; resistance stage; exhaustion.
For Filipinos, according to Guzman, the top ten stressors were employment, financial, family relations, children, family health, social relations, relationships, education and crime.
PamCham’s seminars and trainings committee spearheads the learning sessions that will run every month of 2013.
The first learning session delved on Work Life Balance that stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy equilibrium between family and work life. The second session tackled motivation and its positive impact in the workplace and the company’s viability.
