CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - With the saturation drive against illegal drugs gaining headway, intelligence agents and anti-illegal drugs operatives have warned suspected pushers to once and for all stop in their distribution activities especially that the May polls near.
This, as elements of the City of San Fernando police over the weekend cornered a suspected pusher identified as Jorge Pineda Ortega of the dreaded “Ortega Brothers” in a buy-bust operation last Friday at about 6:10 p.m.
Confiscated from the suspect were six plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or better known as “shabu” in the streets weighing almost one gram each; a Honda TMX motorcycle with plate number AR7713; and a marked P500 bill.
Intelligence agents who requested not to be named told Sun.Star Pampanga that the suspect, 20, single, admitted to distributing the illegal substance which his elder brother “scores” from sources in Manila.
“Dayo po ang mga ito. Ni hindi niya alam ang eksaktong address niya sa Calulut. Sunod-sunod na pong nahuhuli natin ang mga suspected pusher na ito engaged in distributing illegal drugs na tumataas habang palapit ang eleksyon. Pero hindi po kami titigil hangga’t hindi naming masugpo iyung distribution sa baba o sa grassroots. This will serve as warning to those who continue to distribute illegal drugs. Hindi po sila makakatakbo o makakapagtago sa kamay ng batas,” a lead narcotic agent said.
The suspect has been appraised of his rights as charges of violating Section 5 and Article 11 of Republic Act 9165 has been filed in court.
