CANDABA -- A 62-year-old grandfather here was arrested by the local police for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
Superintendent Benjamin Medina, town's chief of police, identified the suspect as Orlando Dela Cruz Tipon, married, of Barangay Sto. Niño, this town.
Police authorities said they received information through a text message about the illegal activities allegedly undertaken by the suspect from his house, situated in front of an elementary school here.
The informer said the suspect has been pushing or trading illegal drugs for so long, victimizing and exposing students studying in a nearby school to danger.
With this, the local police organized a composite team to conduct a buy-bust operation against Tinio, which resulted to his arrest.
"Hindi naging madali yung operation dahil secured yung lugar ng suspect. Mataas ang bakod, mayroon pa siyang CCTV sa labas ng bahay," PO3 Rommell Delos Santos told Sun.Star Pampanga.
Confiscated from the suspect were four small sachets believed to contain methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, a Nokia cellular phone and marked money.
Tinio is now facing a case for violating section 5 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
